Founders

Edmund Ng

Edmund is the Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Eastfort Asset Management (EFAM), bringing over 38 years of experience across global financial markets on both the buy-side and sell-side. He founded EFAM with the vision of building a premier China-focused fixed income investment platform, offering a full range of bond strategies across varying risk-return profiles to institutional investors worldwide.

Prior to establishing EFAM, Edmund served as Head of the Direct Investment Division at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (2007–2015), where he led the internal portfolio management team and played a key role in diversifying investments to other asset class. Earlier in his career, he spent 20 years at JPMorgan as a Managing Director, leading Fixed Income & Currencies trading teams and managing market businesses across eight regional centers.

In addition to his investment leadership, Edmund has held senior board roles in global financial market institutions. He served as an independent Non-Executive Director (iNED) on the group board of TP ICAP, a FTSE-listed company, from 2017 to 2023, and currently serves as an iNED of OTC Clearing Hong Kong Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX).

Kent Janer

Kent has been in close partnership with Edmund since Eastfort AM was established in 2015 and he is currently a Director on the board of EFAM.  

Kent is a veteran in the financial sector with solid experience in the investment field.  Aside from Eastfort AM, Kent co-founded Nektar, a fixed income and macro hedge fund, in 1998 and served as Chief Investment Officer for its first 17 years. Under his leadership, Nektar received numerous international awards for long-term performance, including recognition for the highest risk-adjusted returns among comparable European hedge funds over a ten-year period.  Nektar was part of Brummer & Partners, a Stockholm-based investment firm managing approximately USD 14 billion, primarily in hedge funds, where Mr. Janér was also a partner.

In addition, he serves on the Investment Committee of the Nobel Foundation, which manages the assets that finance the Nobel Prizes and the Board of Trustees of SNS, often described as “Sweden’s most important network and non-partisan think tank for decision-makers, leaders and academics.”  Kent was a NED of two listed banks in Sweden.

Founding Principals

Ross Lubinski

The Chief Risk Officer has close to 20 years of experience in financial markets. Previously serving together with the CIO at HKMA in the Direct Investment Division managing the Emerging Market Debt portfolio as a portfolio manager. Prior to that the CRO worked for regional banks in foreign exchange trading, having been active in greater China financial markets since 2007.

Harvey Lim

Harvey is the Senior Portfolio Manager who has nearly 20 years of experience in global financial markets. He specializes in managing fixed income portfolios, with a primary focus on developed markets and China. Prior to his current role, he served as a Portfolio Manager in the Direct Investment Team of the HKMA, where he was responsible for fixed income investments in Asia.  He possesses deep expertise in China fixed income market and access products, supported by his extensive experience across fixed income advisory and global markets roles at leading international banks. This background has equipped him with strong portfolio construction capabilities and robust risk management acumen.

Kristy Leung

Kristy is the Head of Operations with nearly 20 years of experience in fund operations, accounting, and financial reporting. She leads the Operations team responsible for trade support and operations, fund accounting, and client reporting.   Prior to this role, she held roles as an Assistant Manager at Citibank and a Senior Fund Accountant at HSBC, where she specialized in servicing hedge funds.  Kristy holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Macquarie University and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

Brian Lau

Brian is a portfolio manager responsible for managing the fund’s foreign exchange (FX) exposures and has over 10 years of experience in the financial markets. He previously served as an Operations Analyst at EFAM before transferring to the Investment Team in 2020. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
